The Volcan Mountain Foundation 501(c)(3) in Julian, California is pleased to invite applications for its search for an experienced, visionary leader to serve as its next Executive Director. Working in collaboration with a committed Board of Directors, the new Executive Director will join a vibrant conservation enterprise, recognized for its focus on the importance and sustained conservation status of the Eastern Peninsular Ranges in one of the most biodiverse regions in the country.

The Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) strives with intention to acquire and conserve land and practice respectful stewardship through education, public outreach, and resource management to preserve the entire 15-mile long Volcan Mountain range in its natural state for future generations. Since its founding in 1988, the Foundation has developed conservancy partnerships and facilitated the establishment of San Diego County’s Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve and the addition for preservation of over 17,000 acres, bringing conserved land within the 52,000-acre range to approximately 31,000 acres.
