Rancho La Puerta – 1 week for two at the luxurious destination fitness resort and spa in Tecate, Mexico.  Includes accommodations (Villa Studio Double room), meals, snacks, access to over 50 different fitness classes a day, lectures, entertainment and use of all facilities, and scheduled  transportation to and from the San Diego Airport (Saturdays only).  Stay must be between the months of July through December, subject to availability.  Cooking classes, spa treatments and personal training sessions are not included. Seward, Alaska Kayak Excursion courtesy of Kayak Adventures Worldwide--A great reason to plan a trip to Alaska! EXPERIENCES
Turkish Cooking Class: Sunday, June 4th, 2017, local author Angie Brenner is donating her time to lead you on a Turkish journey through a 'hands-on' cooking class at Mom's Pie House in Wynola, courtesy of Anita Nichols. You'll prepare meze (appetizers) and bread recipes from Angie's and Joy Stocke's newly-released cookbook, Anatolian Kitchen: Tree of Life. Then you'll share the dishes you prepared - Turkish Style - in the beautiful garden under the shade of trees and surrounded by rose and lavender bushes.  Angie has traveled throughout Turkey for over twenty-five years and shared her experiences in her travel memoir, Anatolian Days and Nights: A Love Affair with Turkey, which she co-authored with Joy Stocke. It's guaranteed to be a sumptuous culinary treat! (Date may be subject to change). Available for 20 participants at $55 per person.
Experience an owner's day at the Del Mar Race Track, compliments of race horse owners, Priscilla & Keith Webb. A 'backside' tour of the compound, stables and paddocks accessible only to owners. Cheese Making Part 2 -- Cheddar! Sunday, May 7, 2017, learn the craft of making hard pressed aged cheeses from our resident cheesemaker, Eric Jones. In this half-day workshop learn all about cheese making, including the chemistry, biology and process that turns milk into the 1,000's of wildly different varieties. Through a detailed demonstration of the Cheddaring process, hands-on activities and yes, cheese tasting, you'll come away with the recipes and knowledge to start making cheese in your own home! Available for 8 participants at $55 per person.
