The Sustaining Friends Summer Mingle was a big hit in its first year last year. A big thank you again to Pat & Darrell Straube and Orchard Hill Country Inn for holding this fun summer get-together for the Sustaining Friends group!

There is no event charge for the Summer Mingle, but it’s important that you register/RSVP, so that we can plan food and beverages accordingly. When you register/RSVP (by filling in and submitting the form below*), please let us know if you will only be hiking, or only joining us at Orchard Hill…or both!! 

This exclusive event for Sustaining Friends is happening a month earlier this year on Sunday, July 8th, due to availability at Orchard Hill. So, it’s a little too early for a berry-picking hike this year. However….

Instead, we’ve been given a special invite from James Hubbell for a short, guided hike along a little-known nature trail at the Hubbell’s Ilan-Lael Foundation property in Wynola. James is excited for Ilan-Lael to share this trail with select groups of visitors. ILF volunteer, and long-time State Park ranger, Dick Miller designed the approximately mile and quarter long trail and will be guiding our short exploration.

Many of you probably know about, or have gone on the Father’s Day Open House and Studio Tour which is the big annual fundraiser for our friends at the Ilan-Lael Foundation. Please note that this Sustaining Friends short guided hike does NOT include a tour of the Hubbell Studios. However, the Father’s Day Tour is a must-see, with new aspects every year. FOR THE HIKERS—WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:
--We’re foregoing the usual Orchard Hill attire for this event, so you don’t need to change after the hike--outdoor/hiking clothes are OK
--walking/hiking shoes
--long parts are recommended
--sun protection: i.e. sunscreen, hat and/or sun protective clothing
