The Mission of the Volcan Mountain Preserve Foundation
Our virtually untouched, magnificent local mountain rises to 5,000 feet behind the old gold mining mountain town of Julian,
California. The mission of the Foundation is respectful stewardship of Volcan Mountain with emphasis on:
Maintenance and enhancement of natural habitat.
Protection of
native plant and animal species.
Preservation
of archaeological sites.
Encouragement
of appropriate research and education.
Provision of
a unifying link connecting nearby wilderness areas.
Assurance that
people may continue to be refreshed and inspired by the presence of wild,
open space.
Acquisition of
additional acreage to preserve all of Volcan Mountain

of various agencies to work together.
