The Volcan Mountain Western Slope

The West side of Volcan is more lush than the East side due to the rain shadow effect.

The upper slopes of the mountain are covered with several species of conifers, including white fir, big-cone Douglas fir, Coulter pine and incense cedar.

Species of oak that live on Volcan are black oak, canyon live oak and coast live oak
