Volunteers Needed: Bull Thistle Removal - Saturday, February 28, 2026

Saturday, February 28 -  VMF needs your help! Join botanists and conservationists Larry Hendrickson and Sharyl Massey as well as VMF's Suzie Meyer for a morning removing non-native and highly invasive bull thistle at VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center. By removing this plant species, you will have the satisfaction knowing that you are restoring the forest to its healthy, natural ecosystem!

Wildcrafting: Winter Conifer Tea Party - Saturday, January 24, 2026

January 24, 2026 – Winter Conifer Tea Party! 

There is nothing more cozy than enjoying a hot cup of tea on a cold winter day.  In this class, VMF's Education Coordinator, Janice Smith, will teach you to identify, forage, and make an assortment of wild conifer teas. We will pair these teas with delicious Douglas fir lemon bars, which we will also make together. Finally, you will create your very own conifer tea bag blend to take home.
