The Volcan Mountain Foundation's annual Sustaining Friends Fall Visioning Day is Sunday, October 16th, 2016. This year, we'll be gathering at Spencer Valley School in nearby Wynola.

This year, we're excited to announce that USGS badger researchers, Cheryl Brehme and Devin Adsit-Morris, will presenting their research work, including recently capturing long-awaited images of badgers, and visually confirming their presence atop Volcan Mountain. Bill Carter of VMF's Wildlife Imaging Team will also share their research as informed by data collected through a network of remote camera traps.

We hope that you will be able to join us from 9:30am-1:00pm at Spencer Valley School in Wynola (see directions below). It is an important opportunity for Sustaining Friends members to help shape the future goals and activities of the Volcan Mountain Foundation.

Once again a delicious catered lunch will be provided courtesy of Sustaining Friends member Michel Malecot and The French Gourmet. In addition to the exciting new research presentations, Sustaining Friends will share in a visioning session to solicit ideas and suggestions that will be helpful when the VMF Board of Directors meets for their annual retreat in November.

Following lunch Sustaining Friends are invited to join us for an optional hike on Sky Island Trail. The approximately 1 1/4 mile round trip hike leads to a spectacular viewpoint looking out across the Santa Ysabel Valley, the San Diego and San Dieguito River watersheds, and to the coast. Though the view scope you can spot a variety of peaks from inland San Diego and down across into Mexico.
