Saturday, September 20th join San Diego County Park Ranger Roger at Santa Ysabel Preserve East for his fun, interesting, and informative 'All About Julian' talk.  Find out about the gold boom, the development of the Julian area, the short-lived ski resort, and what happened to the bears!  Learn why the oaks are dying and what we are doing about it.  Meet Ranger Roger at the Santa Ysabel Preserve East-Farmer Road staging area at 10am.  Temperatures over 90 degrees or rain will cancel the event.

After the talk enjoy a walk or hike through the easy, rolling, meandering trails of the preserve among the oaks and sycamores along Santa Ysabel Creek.  The picnic table at the creek crossing 1 1/2 miles in makes a great spot for lunch or a snack.  For updates or questions about this event, contact the County Ranger office at 760-765-4098.
