Citizen Science Botanical Survey at Volcan Mountain, Saturday, April 29th, 2017

Date:
Saturday, April 29, 2017 - 9:00am

Saturday, April 29th join Volcan Mountain Foundation partners, the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy (SDRVC) and Professional Field Botanist Kier Morse, for a citizen science botanical survey as we seek and inventory the flowering plants, trees and shrubs on SDRVC's Volcan Mountain parcels near Julian.

Don’t feel intimidated if you’re not a plant expert – that’s what Kier is for! This is a great opportunity to see a protected area of the San Dieguito River Park that is generally not open to the public, learn more about our local mountain plant species, and contribute valuable data to the River Park.

Volunteers will meet at Dudley’s Bakery in Santa Ysabel and carpool to the survey site. Come join us for an hour or stay all day. For more info, and Julian-area volunteers, please contact Conservation Manager Jess Norton at jess@sdrvc.org for location and timing details.

Register with SDRVC at:  https://form.jotform.us/53225468667162

*Please note: The survey area is approximately 4,100 feet in elevation and will require some moderate hiking. Participants should come prepared with closed-toe shoes, long pants and plenty of water & snacks.
