Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve

Saturday, August 29th, 2015 volunteer for a work project at the Santa Ysabel Open Space & Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserves led by San Diego County Park staff! Enjoy a day of fresh mountain air and the camaraderie of friends and colleagues while making a difference! Projects can include trail maintenance, tree planting trimming vegetation, erosion control and invasive plant removal. Learn proper tool handling and trail building techniques while enjoying scenic views of the surrounding area.

Park near the entrance of the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve along Farmer Road (1209 Farmer Road, Julian, CA 92036) and meet at the Hubbell gate trail head at 10am. Bring gloves, a hat, a reusable water container and snacks. Wear long sleeves and appropriate shoes. Tools and water will be provided. There will be a short hike to the work site.
