Location: Ilan-Lael Foundation in Julian. Parking and event location directions will be sent after registration.

What is Forest Bathing?
Saturday, September 21: The Volcan Mountain Foundation is partnering with I Love a Clean San Diego to clean up VMF's Copper Spur Ranch. The focus will be to remove trash items in a forested area near the headwaters of the San Dieguito River. By participating in this clean-up, you will be restoring the forest to a healthy ecosystem.
The Volcan Mountain Foundation greatly appreciates the time and energy volunteers take to restore the beautiful ecosystems of the Volcan Mountains in Julian, CA.

Saturday, September 14 - VMF needs your help! Join botanist and conservationist Larry Hendrickson and VMF's Suzie Meyer for a morning removing non-native and highly invasive bull thistle at VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center. By removing this plant species, you will have the satisfaction knowing that you are restoring the forest to its healthy, natural ecosystem!

What is Forest Bathing?
September 7: Join bat biologist Don Endicott as he discusses the lives of bats. Guest presenter Don Endicott will teach you about the life cycle, habitats, and unique features of bats as well as the methods he uses to conduct his research. After the presentation we'll go on a short walk to view bats during sunset.
Don Endicott is also a volunteer naturalist for the San Diego Natural History Museum, California State Parks, Mission Trails Regional Park, Cabrillo National Monument, Project Wildlife, and other local and regional organizations.

Bring home the bounty of Volcan Mountain by creating a summer botanical wall hanging or wind chime from natural botanical items that we find at our nature center. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate the summer season and decorate your home or garden.
