Autumn Hike in SY Preserve East to Kanaka Flat, Sunday, September 24th, 2017, 9am-12:30pm

Sunday, September 24th at 9:00 am join County Parks staff for a Free autumn hike through the Santa Ysabel Preserve-East to Kanaka Flat.

The moderate 7-mile hike will take you along Santa Ysabel Creek which is lined by deciduous black oaks and sycamores that exhibit lovely autumn colors in the late fall. You'll continue across the creek, up and around the Kanaka Loop Trail and return to the trailhead around 12:30pm. Along the way, Ranger Bobbi will talk about the many different plants and animals that call this preserve home.
 
Please dress in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the hike. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; bring water and a snack for the trail. Dogs are welcome but they need to be on a leash. 

Meet at 9:00 am at the Santa Ysabel East Staging area at the north end of Farmer Road,  114-117 Farmer Road, Julian CA 92036.  Inclement weather will cancel event.
