Santa Ysabel East Preserve-Highway 79 Back Trails Hike, Saturday, October 15th at 9am

Date:
Saturday, October 15, 2016 - 9:00am

Saturday, October 15th at 9:00 am join San Diego County Park Attendant Bill Augustus on a hike through some of the back trails of the Santa Ysabel East Preserve-Highway 79.  Enjoy discussions about the history, plants and wildlife of the Preserve, while seeing places in the Preserve you don’t normally get to see. (This is the new back trails hike that we canceled last spring due to rain.)

This hike will include an elevation gain and loss of approximately 500 feet in 1/2 mile.  The total hike distance will be approximately 8 miles.  This will be a moderate to strenuous hike.  Please dress in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the hike. Wear sturdy hiking shoes; bring plenty of water and a snack for the trail.  Inclement weather will cancel event. Meet at the Santa Ysabel East Highway 79 staging area located about 1.5 miles north of Santa Ysabel, CA 92070.

You can register on the hike's Meetup page to get updates in case of weather cancellation.  Contact the Heise Park Ranger office for updates or more information, 760-765-4098.
