VMF Artist's Reception & Wine Pairing Dinner at Jeremy's On The Hill; Friday, December 2nd

Friday, December 2nd, please join the Volcan Mountain Foundation and the Rubenson Family for a special artist's reception and wine pairing dinner at Jeremy's On The Hill and featuring wines from Volcan Mountain Winery.

This VMF fundraising dinner is limited to 55 guests, who will enjoy the farm-to-table cuisine of Chef Jeremy Manley.  Each of four gourmet courses will be paired with wines from the Volcan Mountain Winery, capped by a decadent chocolate ganache dessert and coffee!

The Diversity of Wildlife on Volcan Mountain Saturday, November 12th

Saturday, November 12th at 2pm the Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) is hosting a free public presentation by Bill and Susan Carter lead volunteers of VMF's Wildlife Imaging Team (WITs) at VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center. They will share fascinating wildlife photos, captured from the growing network of remote cameras around the Volcan Mountains, what the WITs are learning about the diversity of wildlife on and around Volcan, and the behind the scenes work of wildlife monitoring.

Wildcrafting: Fall Gourds; Sunday, November 27th

Sunday, November 27th come learn the art of wildcrafting with gourds at the Volcan Mountain Foundation's Volcan Mountain Nature Center at the headwaters of Santa Ysabel Creek in Julian. Internationally-known Julian gourd artist, Don Weeke will be leading this workshop in the adornment of fall gourds using pine needles and other natural materials, along with color dyes and wood burning techniques. Everyone will go home with their work of gourd art!

From 10am-1pm.

Dark Skies Forum at Julian Library, Saturday, September 24th at 1pm

Saturday, September 24th at 1pm, the Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) and the Julian Dark Sky Network (JSDN) are co-hosting a free community forum at the Julian Library about the wide-ranging virtues and values of dark skies and how we can work as a community to protect Julian’s dark skies, alongside our other natural resources and treasures like Volcan Mountain. Can Julian become a 'Dark Sky Community'?

Volcan Mountain Needs YOU! Saturday, July 16th, Can you help with a Volcan Volunteer Work Party?

PLEASE VOLUNTEER ON SATURDAY, JULY 16TH!

Volcan Mountain Foundation Conservation Chair, Sharyl Massey is looking for a few good volunteers that aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. Come out for a work party on Saturday, July 16th, and help with brush clearing and tasks around VMF’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center. Of course, there’s always fun to be had too!

Hubbell 2016 Studio & Home Tour, Sunday, June 19th

Sunday, June 19th, celebrate Father's Day by visiting a San Diego treasure with inspiring views of Volcan Mountain. The Ilan Lael Foundation is once again holding it's annual James Hubbell studio and home tour. They've returned the property to all it's glory over the past decade since the great fire, and more construction is underway on a courtyard building to house the activities of the Ilan Lael Foundation.

Julian Build-A-Pen & Save A Lion Hosted by Mountain Lion Foundation with 4-H, Saturday, June 11th

Saturday, June 11th the Mountain Lion Foundation (MLF) is partnering with the Julian & Santa Ysabel 4-H Club to demonstrate how to design and build secure livestock enclosures and find out more about keeping mountain lions away from homes and farms.
