Saturday, December 2nd, please join the Volcan Mountain Foundation from 3pm-5pm for a special artists' reception featuring art of Volcan Mountain created by Robert Treat and Adrianne Smits. REGISTER AT VOLCANMT.ORG/RECEPTION

Both Adrianne and Robert are 2017 recipients of the Joseph and Marjorie Rubenson Endowment for Art and Science at Volcan Mountain. The photographic and watercolor art pieces will be unveiled before heading on a three-month tour of San Diego County public galleries.

Learn the craft of making Camembert. In this half-day workshop learn all about cheese making, including the history of pioneer cheese making in the San Diego mountains. Through a detailed demonstration of the Camembert process, hands-on activities and yes, cheese tasting, you'll come away with the recipes and knowledge to start making cheese in your own home!

Sustainable Urban Orchard Dinner in Poway, Date changed to Sunday, May 22nd

Enjoy a springtime alfresco dinner and the Baker’s organic urban orchard, sustained by grey water irrigation. You’ll learn about the exciting new San Dieguito River Watershed Explorers Program. Lynne Anne is co-chair of VMF’s Advisory Board, and past Executive Director of the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy. She will share the history and development of the new Program. This exciting new partnership brings underserved San Diego youth to the San Dieguito Watershed, exploring from the crest at VMF’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center to the coast at the San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar.

Work side-by-side with Tom creating (and naming!) a new beer. Learn the initial brewing procedure and help with all the steps. Includes: Casual lunch at the brewery, an invitation to the VMF -- Nickel Beer Company VIP Beer Release Party, and 64 fl. oz. growler of the finished beer.
