On Sunday, August 9th join Ranger Bobbi and the San Diego County Parks Mountain Borrego Preserve staff to make your own custom bird feeder. Meet at 10am at the Santa Ysabel Preserve East Staging Area on Farmer Road (117-411 Farmer Road, Julian, CA 92036). Adventurers of all ages are welcome to join in. Kids under 12 should be joined by an adult.
Friday, August 21st & Saturday, August 22nd, the 4th Annual Julian Film Festival, benefitting and sponsored by the Volcan Mountain Foundation, is being held as a summer event for 2015. 'All Events Access Pass' and 'Single Session Movie Pass' Tickets are available now!
On Saturday, August 15th, come be Inspired by Nature through conservation art on Volcan Mountain. The Volcan Mountain Foundation’s ‘Art on the Mountain’ events series continues with a nature-inspired sculpting workshop led by Brenda Swaim. After a short intro, participants will explore VMF’s Volcan Mountain Nature Center on a silent hike and then return to the interpretive station to sculpt what has inspired you out of air-dry clay. Finally, participants will have an opportunity for journal time and sharing.

Wednesday, August 26th, come capture Volcan Mountain through plein aire painting. The Volcan Mountain Foundation’s ‘Art on the Mountain’ events series continues with a plein aire painting safari led by artist Sally Snipes. Artists will be guests of, Volcan Mountain property owner, Don Whitson, whose property has majestic views of the San Felipe Valley and surrounding mountains.
Starting tonight (Fri, Aug 21st) & continuing all day tomorrow (Sat, Aug 22nd), the 4th Annual Julian Film Festival, benefitting and sponsored by the Volcan Mountain Foundation, will kick off at Julian Station at 7pm with an Opening Night film screenings & filmmaker reception to follow. The first of four 90-minute film sessions starts at 10:30 on Saturday at Julian High School.
