The Volcan Mountain Foundation's annual Sustaining Friends Fall Visioning Day is Sunday, November 10, 2019. We'll again be gathering at Spencer Valley School in nearby Wynola.

There is no event charge for this essential connection and visioning gathering of the Sustaining Friends group, but it's important that you register using the form below.

We hope that you will be able to join us from 9:30am-1:30pm at Spencer Valley School in Wynola (see directions below). It is an important opportunity for Sustaining Friends members to help shape the future goals and activities of the Volcan Mountain Foundation.

There will be presentations by staff from The Nature Conservancy and San Diego County Parks and Recreation, updates on progress, and a shared visioning session

Following lunch you are invited to join us for an optional outing to VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center, where you'll choose either:

1) LOWER NATURE CENTER: An easy guided exploration around the Outdoor Classroom with quiet reflection and conversation under the big trees. You can experience the place and some of the activities that our outdoor education students received year round.

2) UPPER NATURE CENTER: A short, but adventurous (moderately strenuous and/or challenging), off-trail hike up a Coulter pine forested hill to a nearby ridge line and the location of pioneer August Grand's Volcan Mountain sawmill. We haven't found it yet, but perhaps this time? The acquisition of this former Rutherford Ranch parcel by VMF in 2010 was made possible by funding from the County of San Diego's Multiple Species Conservation Program (MSCP) for a perpetual conservation easement on the parcel.

For those coming to the Nature Center, we'll be done by approximately 3:00/3:30pm.
