October 'Crafts Under The Oaks' Programs at Santa Ysabel Preserve East

Get ready for fall-oriented 'Crafts Under The Oaks' with San Diego County Parks & Rec staff in October at the Santa Ysabel Preserve East-Farmer Road staging area.  With the oaks and sycamores changing colors this is a beautiful time of year to come visit Julian and explore our local parks and preserves. These interpretive programs are open to all ages and are free to the public.  Inclement weather will cancel events.  For more information on these San Diego County Parks & Rec events, please contact the local staff office at 760-765-4098

Saturday, October 19th at 10am--Wooden Wind Chimes

Kids and adults alike will turn wood found in the preserve into a relaxing addition to any area of the home. Join park staff in creating these calming instruments that make nature sing.

Saturday, October 26th at 10am--Pumpkin Carving

Kids can carve their own pumpkin in time for Halloween fun! Come join Park staff for a morning of fun, while enjoying the outdoors under the oaks. The park will provide a pumpkin and carving instrument, come early as supplies are limited. No personal carving tools are permitted.

Saturday, October 27th at 10am--Halloween Crafts, Spooky Eyes

Give new life to paper tubes as “Scary Eyes” just in time for Halloween! Join park staff and learn to recycle “trash” into fun crafts!
