Volunteers Needed: Bull Thistle Removal - Saturday, February 28, 2026

Saturday, February 28 -  VMF needs your help! Join botanists and conservationists Larry Hendrickson and Sharyl Massey as well as VMF's Suzie Meyer for a morning removing non-native and highly invasive bull thistle at VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center. By removing this plant species, you will have the satisfaction knowing that you are restoring the forest to its healthy, natural ecosystem!

Time:  9:00 am - 12:00 pm

What to Bring and Wear:  Snacks and/or lunch and water. Wear sturdy shoes. Bring your work/gardening gloves and shovels, if you have them. We have extras as well.

Location: Volcan/Farmer Road gate (the north end of Farmer Road with the yellow END sign) 22850 Volcan Road/4002 Farmer Road, Julian, CA 92036 Note that this is a private gated property.
