Mother's Day Weekend Hike to Volcan Mountain Summit, Saturday, May 12th, 2018

Saturday, May 12th join Bill Augustus of the San Diego County Parks and Recreation on this hike to the summit. This is a strenuous 7-mile hike, with a 1,000' elevation gain. Along the way, we'll enjoy the many different flowers that call this preserve home. There are also stunning views from 'sea to sea' (the Salton Sea and the Pacific Ocean) when you get to the summit.
 
Time:  9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Meeting Location: Meet at 9:00 am at the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve trailhead on Farmer Road; 1209 Farmer Road, Julian CA 92036.  Inclement weather will cancel event.

Bring: Bring water and a snack for the trail. Dogs are welcome but they need to be on a leash.  

Wear:  Please dress in layers as the temperature will vary throughout the hike and wear sturdy hiking shoes.
