The Volcan Mountain Foundation is delighted to announce the addition of new board members, Eric Jones and Steve Vanderburg, new Administrative Assistant, Nicole McMillan, as well as a new Resource Management Committee Chair, current board member, Kris Jacobsen. Welcome and congratulations!
The Volcan Mountain Foundation's newest addition to both Education and Research is VMF's Wildlife Imaging Team (WIT), a group of 10 volunteers who are helping to categorize and make sense of our vast number of remote camera viewing images. This group of 10 have been joined recently by Biology Professor Mike Mooring and his Conservation Biology students from Point Loma Nazarene University.
Mountain lions ruled the day at a special ‘Creatures of the Mountain’ presentation at the Julian Library on January 17th. The well-attended event drew about 80 life-long learners to listen to, biologist and tracker, Mike Puzzo discuss wildlife on Volcan Mountain and in the broader Southern/Baja California region.
