Gift of Interpretive Training for VMF Volunteer Ambassadors
In preparation for the opening of the new Backcountry Visitors Center at the historic Santa Ysabel General Store, the Volcan Mountain Foundation’s Education-Outreach program, received a wonderful day-long training program led by longtime VMF friend, Mary Aldern held on Saturday, September 8th at the Pinto Ranch Retreat Center in San Felipe.
Kids With Cameras
Spring 2012 brought the second round of Volcan Mountain Foundation's collaborative “Kids with Cameras” program to Julian students! Thanks to the teamwork of Jeff Holt, Tricia Elisara, and others, fourteen youngsters spent six weeks learning how to produce beautiful photographs.
SD Tracking Team at Pinto Ranch
On May 12th at Pinto Ranch a group of 15 teachers and students gathered to attend a beginners' tracking class through the San Diego Tracking Team. Gary, Rick and Fred led the group through a series of informative tracking slides, demonstrations of various gaits, and "dirt time" exploration.
