Torrey Pines Wildflower Walk

Torrey Pines Wildflower Wonders!  Join in a specialized wildflower interpretive walk with two docents at the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve just for Volcan Mountain Foundation supporters donated by the Torrey Pines Docent Society.  Date:  Sunday, June 10th, 2012, 10am-12pm.  Cost is $15 per person.

Native American Plant Walk & Luncheon, Join Us on Saturday, May 19th

Along a short walk from the Hubbell gateway learn about traditional Native American uses for local plants from Volcan Mountain docents Toni Marquette and Sally Snipes, and afterwards participants* will caravan up to Ferguson Flat to enjoy a picnic lunch along the ridgeline provided courtesy of Michael Beck.  *Vehicle arrangements will need to be made with participants.  Date:  Saturday, May 19th, 2012, 9am-1pm.  Cost is $60 per person.

1st Annual Julian Wild & Scenic Film Festival Kick-Off Party

Get the 1st Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival started off right with the Friday-night Kick-Off Party at Wynola Farms Marketplace.

The kick-off party offers an opportunity to meet the filmmakers, along with food, drinks and music by Chris Clarke and Plow.  Tickets can be purchased separately or with a film festival package, in advance or on the day of the event.

Volunteers Needed! Sat, Feb 18th for Community Day with AmeriCorps

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, February 18th from 9am-3pm for more trail extension, as well as brushing and clearing around the VMF outdoor classroom picnic area as part of another exciting partnership with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps.  VMF is once again very grateful that Wynola Pizza Express has generously agreed to provide delicious wood-fired pizzas to feed hungry trail volunteers.  

21st Annual Dinner Dance & Auction-Sunday, March 4th, 2012

CELEBRATING THE INSPIRED IMAGES & CONNECTED YOUTH OF VOLCAN MOUNTAIN

Make your reservations now for the 21st Annual Volcan Mountain Foundation (VMF) Dinner Dance & Auction to be held on Sunday, March 4th again at Camp Stevens in Julian.  The proceeds from this fun-filled, delicious and entertaining event all go to support the VMF’s efforts to protect and preserve Volcan Mountain—the Crest of the San Dieguito River Park’s Coast to Crest Trail.  The past couple of years have been sell outs, so it’s important to make your reservations early!
