Visitors to VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center in October!

Under the Oak Woodland Forest at VMF's Volcan Mountain Nature Center last month, VMF was visited by Le Petite Ecole, a French School in San Diego. The students learned about the local Oak Forest, drew pictures and planted Oaks in our Native Plant Nursery. The Native Plant Nursery was created with input from Sharyl Massey and Paul Cruz.

July and August

Come explore the mountain through our tracking class on August 4th and 6th to see who goes there at night. You can tell by the footprints left behind!

Remote Viewing Wildlife

To get wildlife monitoring started on Volcan Mountain Foundation's Nature Center and Sky Island properties six remote trail cameras were placed along trails and in different habitat areas like the riparian zone of the lower Nature Center property.

Images captured so far have been of bobcat, mountain lion, fox, coyote, deer, turkey, racoon, opposum and chipmunk.
